What are the types of EV charging connectors also known as “plugs”?

Updated over 3 weeks ago

For fast charging, there are mainly three connectors in the US - CCS, NACS (Tesla), and CHAdeMO.

  1. CCS (Combined Charging System) is the most widely available connector on Presto

  2. NACS (Tesla’s North American Charging Standard) was originally exclusive to Tesla but is now being adopted by many other EV manufacturers.

  3. CHAdeMO is an older standard mainly used by Nissan and a few other brands, and it is becoming less common on new vehicles.

Most public fast chargers on Presto are equipped with CCS connectors. Use of a CCS adapter is common and will allow you to charge your car at the most locations.
